Fitness Friday 3/20

Here's another great Fitness Friday workout for you!  I posted this close to the holiday season last year, hence the themed colors and images.  Still a great mini workout to get you moving and the blood flowing!  Remember to check back in on social media and let me know how you're doing with these workouts.  Use hashtag #FitnessFriday for an even broader reach and community support!

FITNESS FRIDAY 3/20

3 rounds, 3x today

Burpees - the move everyone loves to hate (or is it hates to love?)... start in a standing position, bending down so your hands reach the floor.  Jump (or step) your legs back to a push up position.  Reverse that move to stand up again and add a jump at the top.  Repeat that motion.  Trainer Tip: if you want to increase the intensity, add a pushup before you jump back up again.

Lunge Pulses - get in a regular lunge position, and pulse your legs, raising and lowering your body slightly.  Complete all on one leg before switching.

Russian Twists - or as I like to call them, oblique twists.  Sit down with your knees bent, feet flat on the floor (easier) or lifted off the ground (harder).  Twist your upper body and torso to one side, touching your hands to the ground.  Quickly twist to the other side and complete the same motion.  Continue this pattern quickly, engaging your abdominals and obliques.  Optional: add weight to increase engagement of your abs.
