Hey guys! Another Fitness Friday post for you to enjoy! This one is a little more challenging than past FF posts, so it might make you break a slight sweat (a good thing). I hope you enjoy! Let's get you out of the desk chair and MOVING... Ready?!
Fitness Friday 6/19
3 x 2 (3 times through, twice today)
Side Standing Oblique Crunches - start standing, left arm on your hip and right arm raised above you. Bend and bring your right knee up and right elbow down to meet it, using your obliques (side abdominal muscles) to crunch. Extend back to starting position. On one side, do 30 of these slow, and then 30 fast. Then switch to the other side.
Mountain Climbers (MC) to Frog Jumps - start in a high plank with your hands directly under your shoulders. Quickly alternate bringing your knees to your chest for 8 reps, while keeping your abs tight and spine aligned. Then immediately hop your feet to your hands and back out into a plank, keeping your hands on the ground the entire time. Do 4 hops, then immediately go back to mountain climbers. Each 8-MC + 4-hop pair = 1 rep. Continue the pattern for 10 reps total.
Squatted Jacks - like regular jumping jacks, but you're in a low squat the entire time. To make it slightly easier, keep your hands in by your chest. To make it a bit more challenging, move your arms similar to a jumping jack, but only bring them up to shoulder level. Do this for 30 seconds.
Readers: chat with me! How are you staying active this Friday and through the weekend? Any fun plans??
